The sun had beat down on Pierce’s head, the heat sweltering and drawing sweat from his body like water through a straw. Pierce wasn’t sure how he had gotten lost on the African savannah, one moment he was out with his tour group, then next, he was wandering beneath that great ball of fire in the sky. Then had came the hours of searching, the lack of human life for miles, and the only tracks of his tour group being messed up by some sort of large animal.
